Socceroos v Indonesia scores, results, fixtures, how to watch
This is how the Socceroos are lining up tonight:
So there’s four changes from Thursday night on the Gold Coast. Nestory Irankunda, Sam Silvera, Keanu Baccus, Mitchell Duke and Cameron Burgess are in, while Martin Boyle, Connor Metcalfe, Aiden O’Neill, Kye Rowles and the suspended Kusini Yengi are out. Centre-back Alessandro Circati remains at right-back, a position he’d never played as a professional until Graham Arnold opted for him as a makeshift option, given injury has ruled out quite a few others.
I think Irankunda will be potentially playing up top with Mitchell Duke in a 4-4-2. I saw that combination in training last week and they looked like they complemented each other well. This is a massive game to throw him into, in front of 80,000 people in a must-win qualifier. Let’s hope the 18-year-old steps up and delivers for his nation.
Here, by the way, is the Indonesian XI:
A good chunk of these players are based in Europe – their captain, Jay Idzes, plays for Venezia in Serie A. Don’t let the world ranking fool you, these guys are no mugs.
