AFL results 2025, North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Adelaide Crows, Round 24

Adelaide has secured its first minor premiership since 2017 after holding off a fast-finishing North Melbourne to win by 13 points at Marvel Stadium.

The Crows put a tumultuous week behind it following Izak Rankine’s suspension to lead Saturday’s game wire to wire, winning 17.11 (113) to 15.10 (100).

But North never went away in an encouraging performance to finish its season. It included a five-goal fourth quarter from Alastair Clarkson’s side to make a late charge.

Riley Thiltorpe and Ben Keays kicked three goals apiece as Adelaide’s transition play consistently sliced through the Roos.

The Roos looked capable of running over the top late, until a costly 50m penalty led to a James Peatling goal — his third for the day — to consolidate Adelaide’s 18th win of 2025.

It caps off a dominant home and away season from Matthew Nicks’ side in an epic rise from the bottom four. The club will host a qualifying final in a fortnight’s time, likely against Collingwood, if results go expected.

Tristan Xerri (25 disposals [19 contested], 12 tackles, 35 hit-outs) led North Melbourne’s midfield including big showings from Harry Sheezel (32 touches) and Luke Davies-Uniacke (31 disposals, one goal).

The Roos finish their season 5-1-17 and likely in 16th place, unless Richmond can produce a shock upset of Geelong.
