Late injury puts Fremantle skipper Alex Pearce out for round 10

The Dockers produced an epic last-quarter comeback to beat Hawthorn in Perth last night, but the win had a late, late sting in the tail.
The club confirmed today that skipper Alex Pearce picked up a low-grade MCL (medial collateral ligument) injury taking part in a contest in the final minute of the match.
In a statement, Freo said scans showed it “was not a significant injury”, but that he would miss next week’s game against Essendon at the MCG.
We’re still waiting for news from Hawthorn on the extent of the injury to Tom Barrass. The Hawks’ key defender injured his hamstring in the first half at Perth Stadium.
If it’s a basic injury he could be out for three weeks or so. If it’s more serious, then the Hawks could lose Barrass for a bigger chunk of the season. We hope it’s a minor one.
Here is how the AFL ladder looks before tonight’s games
A win tonight won’t change Brisbane’s position, but it will ensure the Lions stay in the top four.
Victory for Carlton would see them jump above West Coast, but the real bonus would be a morale-boosting win over a flag contender.
For Port Adelaide and the Bulldogs, it’s about keeping pace with the top 10 or even pushing towards the top six (for the Dogs).
Teams are in for Brisbane – Carlton

No late changes for either team.
The Lions have one difference from the side that beat the Bombers last week. Ty Gallop is in concussion protocols, so in comes Irishman Darragh Joyce.
Carlton have made two changes off the back of their latest loss against St Kilda. Liam Reidy and Matthew Cottrell are omitted, and the ins are experienced midfielder George Hewett and young half-back Billy Wilson.
