Woe betide a politician who even – very vaguely – gets between Donald Trump and MAGA.
That seems to be the message from another US intra party election where a long standing Republicans has been deposed by a wildcard candidate Mr Trump endorsed.
John Cornyn will now not face voters at November’s midterms with scandal plagued Texas Attorney-General Ken Paxton winning the Republican nominee for Senator instead.
But the Democrats are rejoicing in the hope that the controversy prone Mr Paxton will led to a surge in support for their candidate.
In a shock move, Joe Biden is suing the Trump White House. The former president wants audio recording of conversations with his biographer kept private after an influential right wing think tank demanded they be released.
Donald Trump has called politicians who want prediction markets – like Polymarket – regulated as “scum”.
While the New York Post, a newspaper that often favours Mr Trump, has published a cutting editorial saying the President “needs a reset”.
It says the White House $1.8bn “anti-weaponisation fund” which could see convicted rioters and those who assaulted police receive massive payouts, was not “a good look”.
