Dockers with another goal out of centre bounce!
My goodness, what is this quarter?!
Pat Voss with some good hands at ground level once again and Andy Brayshaw gets on the end of it and dribbles it home on the outside of the boot.
That’s a terrific finish in heavy traffic.
Freo leading the quarter 4.4 to 4.3. This has been champagne footy.
Serong unleashes loooooong bomb!
Anthony Hudson breaks out the “Serong, SO RIGHT!” call and it’s well deserved after this ripper .
Caleb Serong is on the run from inside the centre square and he sees the open goalsquare and goes for home and it bounces through.
What a player he is. He’s now got 20 touches, eight clearances and two goals for the night.
Scores level for the FIFTH time this quarter.
Cook snaps through his second for the term
The Crows are here to stay tonight!
Brayden Cook has his second goal of the quarter after playing the role of a crumber at the bottom of a Riley Thilthorpe marking contest and he snaps home truly on the right boot.
This has been a tremendous quarter of footy folks.
Thilthorpe finally joins the party amid boos
We mentioned Riley Thilthorpe needed to lift at half-time, and he’s now on the scoreboard!
The Crows go long inside 50 and Oscar McDonald is adjudged to have infringed upon Thilthorpe in the marking contest.
Thilthorpe kicks truly from 25m out directly in front to level the scores for the third time this quarter.
The Freo faithful in attendance at Perth Stadium aren’t too happy with that call, showering Thilthorpe with boos.
Treacy puts Dockers back in front!
Not a moment to breathe for anyone out there!
Shai Bolton jukes and jives 65m out from goal and then sends a long one inside 50 where Josh Treacy takes a good mark and then he storms into an open goal.
The Dockers lead the inside 50 count 7-2 for the quarter, but the Crows have kicked two goals from their entries.
Amiss knots things up after free kick
Jye Amiss kicks his first goal of the night from inside the goalsquare after winning a free kick for front on contact.
Things quickening up again here in the third quarter as these two teams exchange some lusty blows.
Meanwhile, a concern for Freo with Alex Pearce having received a knock to the knee.
Taylor kicks Adelaide’s second goal in a minute
Adelaide has hit the front at Optus Stadium!
Terrific stuff in the middle of the ground as Izak Rankine fakes out Andy Brayshaw before sending the ball inside 50.
Zac Taylor under heavy, heavy pressure snaps it through to put the Crows back in front.
Cook levels the scores after free kick
Adelaide strikes against the run of play once again!
Josh Rachele sends a left-footed kick high inside 50 towards Brayden Cook and Cook wins the free kick for front on contact.
He goes back and drills the set shot and suddenly Adelaide has kicked three of the last four goals to level the scores.
Freo dominating territory to start third term
The first four inside 50 entries go to Fremantle out of half-time.
Adelaide finally has a chance to go forward after a turnover at half-forward, but the ball movement is too slow.
In the end it’s undone as Lachie McAndrew drops an easy mark on the wing and then gives away the free kick for incorrect disposal.
Thilthorpe VERY quiet in the first half
If Adelaide is to win this match, it’ll need a better half of football from Riley Thilthorpe.
The Crows’ big No.7 was barely sighted in that first half, finishing with just two disposals, one mark and one tackle.
He needs to lift, particularly in the absence of Taylor Walker.
Taylor gets the perfect bounce to keep Crows in touch
Adelaide just will not go away tonight!
Zac Taylor snaps away at goal after picking up the ball in congestion from 40m out.
Brennan Cox thinks he’s got it covered in the goalsquare, but the ball takes a wicked bounce and speeds up past Cox’s diving hand and inside the left-hand goalpost.
Frederick snaps truly for an immediate reply
Fremantle doesn’t wait long to strike back after Rachele’s goal!
Andy Brayshaw breaks out the front of the centre bounce and hands off to Shai Bolton, who sends it inside 50.
Luke Jackson plays the role of the crumber this time, hands off to Michael Frederick, who snaps beautifully in heavy, heavy traffic.
Rachele snaps home his second of the quarter
The Crows get a goal against the run of play as Josh Rachele snaps home his second for the quarter!
A lovely kick inside 50 from Ben Keays to space with Rachele out the back of Freo’s defence.
Izak Rankine in the thick of the lead-up to that goal as well. He’s up to 18 touches and four clearances now.
Dockers dominating the territory battle
Fremantle is out to a 28-19 lead in the inside 50 count and it feels like Adelaide is holding on for dear life right now.
With that said, the margin is still just two goals with a couple of minutes left in the second term.
Dudley kicks his second after high contact free
Isaiah Dudley drills a set shot after winning a free kick for high contact, but I don’t know about that.
Dudley gets possession of the footy and then tries to duck under the tackle from Isaac Cumming, and Cumming’s forearm strikes him on the head.
By the book, yes that is a high tackle, but I’m not a fan of that call when the forward initiates the high contact.
It’s messy stuff in the second quarter
There are eight minutes left in the second quarter and we’ve still had just the one goal.
As you see so often, the coaches lock things up after a free-flowing opening term.
Jye Amiss coming off the ground to get patched up after a tackle leaves him bleeding from the head.
Freo’s pressure rating up at 200 for the quarter, Adelaide at 183.
Dawson shaken up after marking contest
Not good signs here for the Crows with skipper Jordan Dawson in all sorts after being cleaned up in a marking contest.
It looked like Dawson was struck on the side by a Freo defender and he’s winded.
The medicos are out there but Dawson is staying out there for now.
