Ahead of Black Friday, shoppers warned to be wary of scams

Australians have lost more than a quarter of a billion dollars to scams in the first nine months of this year – an increase of 16 per cent on the previous period. The ACCC and National Anti-Scam Centre found online shopping scams are now the most commonly reported. Experts say it’s a timely reminder for Australians to remain vigilant, ahead of what’s expected to be a busy Black Friday sales period.
