Only Travis Head remains from Australia’s World Cup champion side as the visitors try to rescue their T20 series against India in tonight’s third match, in Guwahati in India’s northeast. Live from 12:30am EDT Wednesday!

On Tuesday afternoon, Cricket Australia confirmed that World Cup champions Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Steve Smith and Adam Zampa would fly home ahead of the fourth T20 against India. Head, who missed the first half of the World Cup with a wrist injury, will remain in India for the remainder of the five-match bilateral series.

Ben Dwarshuis, Chris Green, Ben McDermott and Josh Philippe have been added to the Australia’s squad as reinforcements. McDermott and Philippe have already joined the T20 squad in Guwahati, while Dwarshuis and Green will link up with the touring party in Raipur.

The uncapped Green could become the 108th cricketer to represent Australia in men’s T20s if selected.

The Aussies fell short in the opening match despite Inglis’ 47-ball century while they were smashed in the second fixture of the series.
