Brisbane Broncos vs Penrith Panthers preliminary final, teams, live blog, start time, where to watch, Nathan Cleary, Reece Walsh, rugby league news

Things are getting heated at Suncorp, with Ezra Mam, Nathan Cleary and Liam Martin involved in a second half skirmish. After 70 minutes, Penrith lead 14-10.

Cleary took exception to a hit from Mam and reached up with his arm and collected Mam in the face, which the Broncos playmaker took umbrage to.

Martin then ran in and knocked Mam to the ground which inflamed the situation. Martin was lucky not to be sin binned for being the third man in.

“Multiple infringements. Part of me is happy, let them play, but we can’t be hypocrites,” Andrew Voss said.

Paul Alamoti has scored both tries for Penrith.

One of those tries came about because of some soft Broncos defence, with Ezra Mam missing a one-on-one tackle before Reece Walsh slipped over as he attempted to stop Alamoti, who jumped over the fullback to score.

“It’s a complete suffocation from Penrith,” Michael Ennis said on Fox League at half time.

Earlier, Panthers forward Scott Sorensen was ruled out of the game after just two minutes in a rough early blow for the visitors.

Sorensen suffered a head knock when accidentally colliding with a teammate. He stumbled when getting up and was bleeding from the mouth.

Almost immediately, it was ruled a Category 1 head knock meaning he’ll miss next week’s decider if Penrith progress.
