George Kambosos Jr vs Vasiliy Lomachenko bout planned for IBF world lightweight title, next fight, Devin Haney vacates lightweight championship
Former lightweight world champion George Kambosos Jr. is suddenly in line for a shot at redemption after US superstar Devin Haney declared he is vacating all four titles.
The 25-year-old retained the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO belts at 61kg via unanimous decision against Vasiliy Lomachenko in May, but is now moving up for a junior welterweight title fight against Regis Prograis.
Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) took the undisputed championship from Kambosos in June last year at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and retained the division crown at Rod Laver Arena a few months later.

Kambosos won his most recent fight against Maxi Hughes in the United States and is now in line to face Lomachenko back home in Australia in April, according to ESPN’s report.
That fight would now be for the vacant IBF world title as the organisation’s top two contenders.
The WBC title would go to Shakur Stevenson while the WBA crown should be awarded to Gervonta Davis. The WBO belt is likely between Denys Berinchyk and Isaac Cruz.
Haney is now eyeing a move up to welterweight (147 pounds, 66.7 kg) after the 140 pound (63.5 kg) bout with Prograis.
“I made history in becoming undisputed, and that was a milestone for me,” Haney told ESPN.
“But now I’m at the point in my career where I want to make the biggest and the best fights happening in the world. I’m a pay-per-view fighter.
“I did everything at 135 that I could.
“The biggest fight for me was making that Gervonta Davis fight, and his side showed no interest in making the fight. I’ve outgrown the division, so now I make my quest to 140 to become a two-division champion.
“And after this fight, I look to become a three-division champion and move up to 147, God willing that I’m successful in this fight.”
