Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has returned to the Western Bulldogs following a lengthy leave of absence.

Ugle-Hagan was back at Whitten Oval on Monday morning for the first time since April, with the forward addressing the playing group and expressing remorse for some of his recent behaviour.

It’s the first step in the right direction to reintegrate Ugle-Hagan into the Dogs’ AFL program, though there’s no timeline on a potential return to the field as the club works through the next steps.

While the club hasn’t discussed when Ugle-Hagan could return to the field, it’s believed he’s keen to play VFL later this season.

Ugle-Hagan is expected to return to training with the rest of his teammates at Tuesday’s main session.

The former No. 1 pick, who hasn’t played at any level this season, spent the past month at a health retreat to help deal with personal issues.

The spearhead’s last AFL game was the Dogs’ 2024 Elimination Final loss to Hawthorn at the MCG.

It comes amid uncertainty around Ugle-Hagan’s future, despite being contracted at the Dogs for 2026, with a possibility he’ll seek a fresh start elsewhere following a tumultuous year.
