King Charles III steps out in first public royal appearance since cancer announcement

King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the Easter church service in Windsor on Sunday, the King’s first appearance at a public royal event .
King Charles, 75, waved as he and Queen Camilla arrived by car at St George’s Chapel, the resting place of his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, for the service.

King Charles had postponed all previous public engagements since Buckingham Palace announced he was to undergo treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.

The cancer was discovered in tests after the King had a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate in January.
While the King attended church on Sunday, his son Prince William, his wife and their children did not.
The Easter service comes just over a week after Kate, Princess of Wales released a video message sharing that she had started preventative chemotherapy after an abdominal surgery in January.

Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence attended the service, as did Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
