Red carpet, winners, gold Logie, time
David Campbell introduces a tribute to John Farnham, the subject of the documentary Finding The Voice, which is up for an award tonight.
“It’s a story that resonates across the globe,” Campbell says of the film, which became the top-grossing Australian documentary of all time when it was released in cinemas in 2023 taking more than $4.5 million.

It was watched by 1.66 million viewers on Seven when it screened later in the year. “Tonight, it’s about celebrating you, John,” says Campbell. “You are an Aussie icon. You ARE the voice, mate. So, to salute the career of this Australian superstar we’re joined by two power house vocalists.”
It’s Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy. Joined by the John Farnham band, they rip through a pair of Farnesy’s biggest hits, Burn For You and, of course, You’re the Voice, complete with bagpipe ensemble.
No Sadie the Cleaning Lady, sadly, but it’s a rousing enough tribute, even if it does double as an outrageous promo for The Voice and Finding the Voice. Seven certainly isn’t the first network to use the Logies as a platform for relentless cross-promotion, but they are taking it to new heights this year.
