Trump scorns EU peace efforts; Haifa missile wounds multiple; Iran refuses to discuss nuclear program future
Donald Trump’s intelligence director, Tulsi Gabbard, has said Iran could be weeks away from producing nuclear weapons, in an apparent change of her position from March, when she told Congress that the country was not building them.
In a post on X, Gabbard said her comments in her March testimony to Congress had been taken out of context by “dishonest media”.
Last week, Trump appeared to rebuke Gabbard, saying she was “wrong” and that US intelligence indicated that Iran had “a tremendous amount” of enriched uranium to produce a bomb.

Gabbard’s latest update could reflect the internal stresses within Trump’s circle of advisers, which is said to be strongly divided on whether or not to join Israel’s strikes against Iran.
There are also reports that Trump is unimpressed with Gabbard’s performance as director of national intelligence.
On Saturday, CNN quoted an unnamed US administration source suggesting she was out of favour.
“When the president thinks you are off message, he doesn’t want you in the room,” the senior White House adviser told CNN.
