Farrer byelection results LIVE updates: One Nation surge towards win as Liberal Party lose former opposition leader Sussan Ley’s regional NSW seat

One Nation’s David Farley is the widely accepted frontrunner in today’s byelection. Early results have put him far above independent challenger Michelle Milthorpe, the Liberals and the Nationals.

However, Farley’s run has been far from spotless, as a number of scandals have rocked his campaign, namely his attempt to run for Labor in Farrer at the 2022 election, and his former membership of the National Party.

In the lead-up to the 2025 general election, Farley also endorsed Milthorpe as a “straight shooter” when she made her first run for the seat.

Farley reposted three videos posted by a 22-year-old Madrid-based OnlyFans model last year, as reported by The Daily Telegraph, a move he said was “inadvertent”. Farley claimed at the time he had “no idea what OnlyFans is”.

The candidate was also at odds with One Nation’s staunch policy of drastically reducing migration numbers, when he told Sky News that Australia’s current level of net overseas migration was “probably not” too high.

The impact of these incidents on Farley’s electoral success can only be determined in the final count.
