Fremantle beat Geelong by 14 points in Perth. They win 18.12 (120) to 16.10 (106).

Geelong closed the lead to within eight points with little more than a minute on the clock, but the home side unleashed Wharfie Time to give the Dockers the inspiration needed to hang on. Following the trademark gong, Patrick Voss sealed the match with a goal after a free-kick on the edge of the goal square.

It begs the question, though: why leave Wharfie Time so late? I guess we’ll never know.

Luke Jackson reigned supreme. The big man had 25 disposals, 35 hitouts and booted two goals to be clearly best on ground. Patrick Voss was the best of their forwards with four majors, while Shai Bolton had 26 possessions and booted the first two goals of the match.

For Geelong, Ollie Henry had a standout game, booting five goals – three in the third term – and keeping the Cats in the match. Bailey Smith worked tirelessly for 29 disposals.

The Dockers will now play Sydney next week in a preliminary final.
