The 37-year-old was a surprise addition to Australia’s touring squad named on Wednesday – given his last Test was back in 2021.
And bizarrely the announcement came only hours after Beale signed a season-long train-and-trial deal at the Western Force for 2027 – meaning he’ll only be able to play in Super Rugby Pacific next season as an injury replacement.

But Wallabies coach Les Kiss clearly wanted to add experience by selecting the 95-Test veteran to replace Hunter Paisami, who is unavailable for personal reasons.
“With Hunter’s unavailability we’re excited by what Kurtley can bring to the group,” Kiss said.
“He’s got 95 caps’ worth of Test experience and whilst he will primarily cover inside centre he has the versatility to play a number of positions across the backline.”
Beale may have last played for Australia in 2021, but was part of the squad in 2024 before an achilles injury prematurely ended his season.
Now after some good recent form for the Western Force at domestic level, where he has made 25 appearances since his move to WA, the veteran is back in national colours for Tests against England, Scotland and Wales in November.
“KB has been a critical piece for the Force over the past few seasons, adding ball playing, experience and voice to our backline. Last season he regularly made a big impact off the bench and is showing no signs of letting up,” Force coach Simon Cron said.
Outside back James Ramm, who signed for the Force ahead of the 2027 SRP season, and halfback Kalani Thomas have also been added to the Wallabies squad.

“James is a player we’ve kept a keen eye on for a while and his form for Northland has been exceptional in recent times,” Kiss said.
“He’s someone who knows the UK well having spent a very successful period with Northampton and can cover multiple positions across the backline.”
Australia will head into the series off the back of two tough Bledisloe Cup losses to New Zealand.
